There are only a few makeup items I've had my eye on recently which is quite out of the ordinary for me, usually my wishlists are pretty extensive to say the least! I wouldn't say no to a 'Supermarket Sweep' inspired spree around the Debenhams makeup counters, just that there's not as much as usual really jumping out at me at the moment. These are the things from the highstreet I've been looking into getting my mitts on for a while, and because they're only cheap I can go out and buy them at the weekend. Yippee!
I've almost picked up the original lip paints a few times in the past, but all of the reviews I've ever read said how drying they are. I struggle to keep my lips hydrated as it is, and so visions of brightly coloured flaky lips stopped me from trying them out. These are supposed to be so much better and I like the look of the colour range too.
I don't have any matte lipsticks in my collection at the moment, and seeing as matte is the look everyone's going for this season clearly I'm missing out. There are loads of really nice shades in this collection that I want to try, every time the advert comes on I'm like oohh I have to have them!
Finding a matte blush on the highstreet is a lot harder than you may think. Almost every one has shimmer or is described as having a 'sheen' which isn't what I want at all, I like my base products to be fully matte other than highlighter which I can carefully apply myself where I want it. I really don't want to look like some scary, shiny vampire woman with skin that's lit up like a lightbulb. I was glad when I saw this matte peach blush by Sleek, I'll probably wear this on the apples of my cheeks then Sleek's Rose Gold along the tops of the cheekbones to highlight.
I don't think I've ever seen a more perfect palette. The dark colours are sultry and beautiful and the neutrals are exactly the kinds of bronzes and golds I'm always looking out for. It doesn't look all that special in that little picture but take a look at the online swatches, they all look amazingly pigmented and soo pretty.
