Cath Kidston Style Nail Art: Simple Roses

I have neither the skills or the tools to create nail art worthy of a blog post, so I hope you'll bear with me on this one. I tried out this simple design today and quite like how it turned out, if even a nail art amateur like me can do it I thought it was worth sharing. I love Cath Kidston/ shabby chic print, and thought this was my kind of style- something that involves strategically placing blobs rather than using intricate brushes but still looks cute is definitely a win.

The Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paints are quite new purchases, they're all over blogs at the moment so I won't bore you with another review but I will say they're amazing. The glossy finish reminds me of a Shellac manicure, and they last for ages without chipping too; I wore Papaya for five days last week and when I came to take it off it looked almost as good as new. This has to be a first for me, usually they chip after a day or two even if I've sat around and ever-so-patiently done a top and base coat. Admittedly that's not often; usually I just pick a shade, paint and go so it's nice that I've finally found a polish that fits in with my lazy nail painting ways!

I used Blueberry as a base, with Dragon Fruit and Grapefruit for the roses. For the leaves I used Ridley Road which is from Barry M's new textured nail line (just because I didn't have another green that was light enough, but I think it worked quite well!) If like me you go googly-eyed for novelty nail polish you'll probably like the textured range, I usually spend the day looking at/feeling/showing everyone my nails when I have it on. The Gelly Hi-Shine and Textured Nail Paints by Barry M are £3.99 compared with £2.99 for the standard line, but still really cheap, I got mine from the Boots website. Of course I want to go out and buy every shade, but every new nail collection Barry M bring out seems to have that effect on me.

Have you tried this design before? Leave the link if you have I'd love to see!
