George Skin Perfection Foundation- £3 from Asda stores or online

I've been a lover of mousse foundation since I was about thirteen, the moment I applied that velvety goodness to my face I just knew it was for me. Matte, full coverage and blends effortlessly- I'll take a lifetime supply please! I went through copious amounts of Maybelline's trusty Dream Matte Mousse throughout my teenage years, and more recently have taken a liking to Loreal's Matte Magique which isn't worlds apart but slightly lighter on the skin. Over the last couple of weeks I've been giving George's Skin Perfection Mousse* a whirl; at just £3 it's less than half the price you'd normally pay for a similar mousse foundation, but is it as good?

The packaging is very much what you'd expect of a mousse foundation, it comes in a rather nice glass pot with a plastic protector under the lid to stop it from drying out. A downside of this type of formula is that you do need to dig out the product using your hands, but as long as they're clean you won't be left with a big pot of bacteria after a few weeks (niiiice). I apply a small amount to the back of my hand, and then buff it onto my face using the Real Techniques buffing brush or expert face brush. You might expect a budget mousse foundation to be very thick and cakey on the skin but this isn't like that at all, it's soft and velvety and feels light while still providing a good amount of coverage. You don't need to apply an extra layer of powder for a matte finish and it covers my rosy cheeks nicely without having to build it up.

I have very little negative to say about this, aside from the obvious- the colour. As you can see from the swatch this does lean quite yellow on me (mainly due to my lack of warm undertones) and even with it being the lightest shade it's still too dark. But all isn't lost, because once I have my blush and bronzer on the colour being off really isn't noticeable (and I'm not left looking like I've come down with jaundice!) Despite the colour I like everything else about it an awful lot- it's easily as good as any other mousse foundation I've tried I just wish there was a better colour range.
