My Favourite 'Minimal Effort' Lip Products

Despite owning a ridiculous amount of lipsticks, on a daily basis I'm quite lazy with them really. Most mornings I'll grab other types of lip products because they're easier to wear, and when I'm not going anywhere special I'll admit- convenience and ease will pretty much win it every time. As much as I like pulling out the big guns with bright reds, berries and fuschia lipsticks if I'm going out (or having a particularly enthusiastic day) recently it's all about neutral-y, easy to wear shades in an easy to apply format. These six lip products live in my 'everyday' collection, and on your regular, bog standard day they're more than likely what I'll have on my face.

Bourjois, Revlon and MUA Lip Crayons
Lip crayons are a lazy makeup day's best friend- the makeup equivalent of a messy bun. Easy to wear, quick to apply and minimal effort needed; I'm addicted to these things and would probably have a bit of a crisis if they ever stopped selling them. While I have loads of lip crayons that I absolutely love, these have to be my top three: Bourjois 'Peach on the Beach', Revlon's 'Honey' and MUA's 'Irreplaceable.' They're universally flattering shades, and complete your look nicely when you don't fancy anything too bold. They might not be as glam as a beautifully packaged lipstick, but at 7am (and I'm walking around like a zombie trying to make my face look presentable) indulging in beautiful packaging doesn't exactly rate highly on my list of priorities anyway.

Rimmel's Luna and Nude Eclipse Apocalips
Another great product for when you're in a rush or just can't be bothered, the two shades I wear most are Nude Eclipse and Luna. They're not long lasting but can be reapplied easily without drying out your lips. Because these shades are quite light, I don't have to keep running to the mirror every fifteen minutes to check if my alter ego 'Smudgy The Deranged Clown' has made an appearance. Always a risk when you wear darker lip colours, which is why I favour slightly more neutral shades unless I know I can be bothered to maintain them. Most glossy lip products could put a Pritt Stick to shame, but these aren't sticky so won't adhere your hair to your lips at the slightest gust of wind. Both of these are repurchases, and I'll continue to buy them because they're oh so convenient.

Mac's Please Me Lipstick
One lip product in a traditional lipstick format that I use a lot is Mac's 'Please Me.' I specifically scoured out an easy to wear shade I could wear day to day, and went with a matte formulation because they last for ages. When I'm out for the day and need a bit of lasting power in my makeup I'll go for this every time. It's the perfect neutral pink, it's not a 'seasonal shade' like coral or plum so is great for all year round, and looks lovely with both natural makeup as well as with a bold eye look on nights out. Overall it's a versatile little devil, and probably my overall favourite lip product. Maybe it's a safe or boring choice, but as long as I have this beauty in my collection I'm good to go for just about any occasion.
