Essie We're In It Together / Barry M Pink Iridescent

If there's one thing that really bugs me, it's people complaining they're ill. Now don't get me wrong I'm not completely lacking in empathy, I just find it annoying when people bang on about how they don't feel well. Well... in the last couple of weeks I have turned into one of those people. I'm only ever ill every few years or so, and so when it happens it's a bit of a shock to the system; after realising how horrible it actually is I feel kind of bad for tutting under my breath whenever someone complains to me that they don't feel well. I've had not one, but two unrelated things happen to me over the last couple of weeks- what kind of bad luck is that? I got over a particularly nasty ear infection a few days ago (and trust me, those things HURT) just to mess up my foot/ ankle yesterday. I have a feeling I might have pulled one of the tendons because I have a weird looking bruised lump and can't put any weight on it at all. So while the sun is shining and people are posting Instagram pictures of themselves eating icecreams at the park and sunbathing in the garden, I'm cooped up like an invalid with my only method of travel being hopping. And yes, I look absolutely ridiculous- I'm not even exaggerating when I say I can't walk on it at all. I can honestly say I never realised how much I took walking (or hearing in the case of my ear infection) so forgranted!

Since hopping isn't a socially acceptable form of travel for anyone over the age of six I'm pretty much stuck inside until it heals up, so I decided to paint my nails a pretty colour to cheer myself up  (pastel pink and sparkles were an easy choice). I applied two coats of Essie's 'We're in it Together' which is such a pretty pastel pink with some really fine purple shimmer running through, with a layer of Barry M's 'Pink Iridescent' over the top. I completely forgot I had this, and have now made a mental note to wear it more it's gorgeous! So while I'm sat around today feeling sorry for myself at least I have pretty nails. And in future I'll try and be a bit more sympathetic when people are ill or hurt. Maybe.

What are you wearing on your nails today?

  2. Hope you feel better soon! Might be worth popping to A&E for crutches - I couldn't walk for 9 months until last June, and it drove me up the wall, so I feel for you with the hopping! x
