Red Lips in the Summertime?

Bourjois Red Sunrise: £7.99 in Boots and Superdrug

I know that red isn't the most obvious choice of lip colour for summer days; usually this time of year I'm all about corals, pastels and nudes and try and get as much wear out of some of my more summery shades while the weather lasts! But for those occasions when only a red will do, I think Bourjois Colourboost lip crayon in Red Sunrise is the one to go for. While it isn't red red (more of a pinky/ watermelon shade really) but it's pretty close, and a good way to wear red in the summer. The glossy finish makes it a bit different from your average vampy red lipstick, and while the pigmentation is good it's a lot less opaque than a classic lipstick. I don't know how many times I've read people complaining that they're bored of this lip crayon format, but I'm really not- they're by far my favourite kinda lip product and hope companies don't stop selling them!

I bought Red Sunrise last summer but didn't get too much use out of it until recently, aside from the odd night out (I really like this as a night out lip colour actually as it's so easy to reapply and lasts for ages!) as I was too busy using using one of the other shades in the range to death 'Peach on the Beach'. The Bourjois lip crayons claim to be waterproof and last ten hours, and while I definitely disagree with that they do last for a while as most balm stains tend to do. They contain SPF 15 which is always handy in the summertime, and because of the lightweight formula they're not going to feel uncomfortable or drying when you're out and about on a hot day. It's a nice one to have in your bag at this time of year, and I plan on getting a lot more use out mine this summer!

Have you tried these Colour Boost lip crayons from Bourjois? Which is your favourite shade?
