Battle of the Bright Pinks

When I first got into wearing lipstick, for quite a long time hot pink was my shade of choice. Eventually other shades came along and stole my heart, but I've recently been rediscovering some of my favourite bright pinks and remembering why I was so obsessed with them. They're such a fun and girly choice, especially for over the summer! Here are five of my favourites.

This has to be my ultimate bright pink, I love everything about it. It's the perfect shade without being too 'barbie' and the formulation is gorgeous. If you're looking for your perfect hot pink lipstick then this is the one I'd recommend every time, it suits every skintone from very light to very dark and with it being from Mac you know the quality is going to be good.

I bought this maybe two summers ago now, and as you can see I haven't worn it much. I had myself all hyped up for these lip butters and once I tried them I was disappointed, I put it away in my lipstick drawer and up until recently had pretty much forgotten about it. But I tried it on last week and really liked how it looked, the pigmentation is good and it's a pretty berry pink colour which I find is flattering on my skin tone. I think when I first bought it I was so disappointed that it was overpriced and didn't live up to the hype I was expecting, but without any of those expectations I'm able to appreciate it for what it is. It's a nice shade for all year round, but is definitely one I'll be adding to my 'everyday products' in the autumn.

I'm not sure which creative genius came up with the name E94511, but bad shade names aside this is such a beautiful lipstick. It's SO bright, almost neon and the formulation is so creamy and easy to apply. I've worn this on loads of nights out and the staying power has always been great. This is one of the first lipsticks I bought when I first started blogging, I paid £1 from Cosmetics Fairy and it's still available now!

This really is a lovely colour, and as with all of the Rimmel Apocalips the formula is nice and opaque. The only reason I don't wear this more is because it smudges so easily. If you're not careful ends up all over your teeth, which is one of those embarrassing 'skirt tucked into your underwear' type situations that haunt you for weeks afterwards. I'm obsessed with the shade and do plan on wearing it more, I just wish it was as easy to wear as my two lighter shades 'Luna' and 'Nude Eclipse'.

This is a such a fun one, a bright pink with tiny purple shimmer particles. It's not one for every day but I love having this in my collection, I usually wear it around Christmas time. The sheeny/shimmery finish looks like a gloss and lipstick in one, but the lasting power is comparable to a lip stain. I've seen these compared with Urban Decay's Super Saturated lip pencils but at around £6 they're way cheaper. If it wasn't for the fact you have to sharpen these I'd buy more of them, it's just a bit of a pain having to sharpen them especially as you lose some of the product in the process too.
