Weleda's Iris Moisture Balancing Mask Review

Well...what a week this has turned out to be! You know when everything that can possibly go wrong goes wrong? Yeah, that. Me and my boyfriend are in the process of buying our very first car, and I can honestly say it's been more difficult than moving house. Thankfully we think everything is sorted now and should be driving away next week, but there's been a lot of stress, emails back and forth and phonecalls this week that have left me feeling pretty exhausted. It doesn't help that when it comes to uncertainty I really can't hack it- I'm definitely not a 'relax and see what happens' kinda girl! Never have I been so happy for good old boring relaxing Sunday to show it's face, because a good rest and pamper sesh has been much needed. I wanted to talk about one of the products I've been using and loving recently (I actually have it on my face right now as I type this up!) Weleda's 'Iris'. This is a moisture balancing, hydrating face mask treatment that's been keeping my skin nice and soft over the last couple of weeks.

I first tried Weleda products earlier in the summer, and quickly became obsessed with their Aknedoron range (review here). Despite the boring and almost medical looking packaging what's inside is fantastic, their Iris mask contains organically grown ingredients including plant oils and natural wax products that protect the skin and help it to maintain a good lipid and water balance. The product applies as a fairly thin, lightly scented beige lotion that becomes clear after you leave it on for the recommended fifteen to twenty minutes. I find a lot of face masks sting my skin (at least for the first minute) but this is so gentle I didn't get that at all, and the natural organic ingredients would make it a good choice for sensitive skin types. After gently removing with a cotton pad you're left with skin that feels fresh and soft, and if like me you notice that your skin can start looking a bit dull throughout the week this is just the thing to brighten it up. The little 30ml tube doesn't look like it will last long, but you really don't need a lot for each application.

If like me you're a sucker for pretty packaging you might have overlooked Weleda products in the past, but I recommend giving them a go- this is the third product from them that I've absolutely loved and has really made a difference to the condition of my skin.

Have you tried any of Weleda's products before?
