My New Nyx Products!

When I first started blogging and watching beauty Youtubers, Nyx was one of the brands that I was dying to get my hands on; known for their HUGE range of inexpensive yet high quality products they really do have it all. Maybe I'm just dim (probably) but I always assumed they were only available in the U.S and never realised they had a UK website til about a year ago- I used to buy pieces here and there from eBay and pay well over the odds for shipping too... what an idiot. Luckily these days Nyx are a lot easier to get hold of here in the UK and can be bought from places like Next and Very, both have a pretty decent range of stuff too. Here are two of the pieces I've been decorating my eyes with lately.

The stand out feature of this mascara is definitely the cool looking wand, which works amazingly well at grabbing the lashes all the way to the corners of the eye. Plastic comb wands like this are always my favourite, the little teeth on this one means it grips and coats the lashes without causing clumps. Nyx claims this is 'intense yet lightweight' and I'd definitely agree, because the formula is a little drier it doesn't feel heavy or clumpy in the slightest (and also means there's less chance of it smudging when you apply- bonus!) This is definitely a lengthening rather than a volumising mascara, I'm all about long fluttery lashes rather than big voluminous ones- but if you're after a bit more thickness with your lashes this might not be for you.

I use cream eyeshadow pencils every time I do my makeup, they're such a staple in my makeup routine. I use them as bases for my powder shadows just because I find they're so much better than standard eye primers, and the fact that they're in a pencil format makes them quicker and easier to use than cream eyeshaow. For the last year I've been chopping and changing between three Urban Decay 'Glide On' eyeshadow pencils, but they're coming to the end of their life and so this was the perfect replacement. It's highly pigmented, smooth and creamy; once it's set it's not going anywhere. This could be worn alone and blended out with a blending brush for a quick eye look, or used alongside powder shadows like I've been doing. I've also been running this under my lower lashline for a hint of gold which really compliments blue eyes. It twists up so there's no mess with sharpening, and the colour is beautiful. Definite ten out of ten for this, it's exactly what I was after!
