Happy Monday everyone, how was your Halloween weekend? I'm pleased to report it was a quiet one around these ends- pumpkin carving, scary films, a gimmicky 'DIY Haunted Gingerbread House' and too much chocolate. Oh yeahh it was a good 'en. I'm particularly thankful for the lack of drinking right about now seeing as I feel fresh as a daisy- no looming two day hangover (which inevitably hangs around every time I have too many drinks these days) so a good result all in all. I've decided to kick off this extremely chilly week with a rare tag post, here are my answers to the Beauty Blogger Tag!

WHAT IS YOUR NATURAL HAIR COLOUR?
A very plain and boring medium ash brown. It's been so long since I've seen my natural colour though I can't exactly remember what it looks like, I've been dying it since I was about fifteen!

DO YOU DYE IT YOURSELF OR GO TO A SALON?
I usually do it myself with a regular box dye, but I plan on going to the hairdressers more next year because it really does look much better when it's left to the professionals.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU WASH YOUR HAIR?
I try and stretch it out to every other day, although I could quite happily wash it every day if I wasn't worried about damaging it. Any longer than two days and it looks horrible, I have fine hair that gets weighed down easily and I hate the look of greasy hair.

DO YOU WEAR THE SAME STYLE EVERY DAY OR CHANGE IT UP?
When I'm just at home I usually shove it up in a ponytail/bun or a side plait. When I go out I have it down, I've been going out a lot without my extensions in recently and it makes getting ready so much quicker!

DO YOU DO YOUR OWN MANI/PEDI OR GO TO A SALON?
I do them myself. I have other things I'd rather spend £20 on than nails that are going to last for three weeks (especially when I have so many polishes and my own Shellac stuff at home!) Plus I'm really funny about having my cuticles pushed back...eeeek!

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE YOU TO DO YOUR MAKEUP?
It depends, I like to take my time so it can take forty five minutes plus if I'm getting ready to go somewhere nice. If I'm rushing out the door I can have the basics on within about five minutes, although I hate having to rush.

DO YOU COLLECT MAKEUP OR JUST BUY WHAT YOU NEED?
I used to 'collect' makeup (ie, hoard and buy too much of it). But I recently had a real change of heart about owning so much stuff that wasn't getting used. I gave a huge amount away to friends and binned a load more, and am much happier with what I have now. In the past I've bought every shade of lipstick from collections I've liked, knowing fine well there were colours there that weren't going to suit me- I look back now and wonder what I was thinking. Even though I still own way too much I definitely wouldn't say I collected it any more and only ever buy things I'm actually going to wear often.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU WEAR FALSE LASHES?
Maybe once a week? If I'm going somewhere decent or somewhere where I want to look nice I'll usually add some- it tends to be whenever I spend time doing a full face of makeup.

WILL YOU LEAVE THE HOUSE WITHOUT MAKEUP?
No, I look terrible. I'm horribly pale with pink cheeks and would feel extremely self conscious. I definitely don't need a full face but a bit of foundation to even out my skin, bronzer to hide the paleness and mascara to make me look alive are essentials.

DO YOU WEAR MAKEUP WHEN YOU'RE ALONE/ WITH FAMILY?
Definitely not, I only wear makeup when I'm leaving the house and as soon as I'm back home I take it all off.

DO YOU PLAN YOUR OUTFIT THE NIGHT BEFORE?
If I have to be up early or go somewhere specific I'll make sure whatever I want to wear is washed and ironed the night before (gold star for organisation). But for the most part I just grab something out of my wardrobe when I get up, most of the time it's long sleeve dresses with leggings so I just have to accessorise them depending on what I'm doing.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU CHANGE YOUR HANDBAG?
Not often, I have my everyday bag quite organised and wouldn't want to move everything backwards and forwards. I probably change it every six months or so when it starts showing signs of wear. I use different bags for different occasions though, so if I'm staying overnight somewhere or going on a night out I'll obviously use different bags then.

DO YOU SPEAK A FOREIGN LANGUAGE?
God no, I'm not that interesting.

DO YOU KEEP A LIST OF PRODUCTS YOU WANT TO TRY FROM OTHER BLOGS?
I used to have pages and pages of products I wanted to try, but as I mentioned earlier on I've had a change of heart about owning so many products. For the past year my current wishlist hasn't been more than a couple of items, I prefer buying homeware stuff with any expendible income now rather than copies of products I already love.

HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH YOUR BLOG NAME
I actually don't remember, which is so weird seeing as it was the foundation of my entire blog. I think I played around with a few ideas and eventually chose the one I liked the sound of the best.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE COLOUR?
Up until quite recently my answer to this would have always been pink, I think my tastes must have changed a bit over the last year. While I still love cute and girly things in pink (as you can probably tell from my blog's colour scheme!) I tend to gravitate towards slightly more grown up styles now, and really like anything in light pastel blue, mint green and white.

  1. Ooh, awesome answers! I know what you mean about being a makeup hoarder, after a while it just feels sad to own so much makeup that's not getting used.
I also love pastel colours like mint green. In fact, my first ever car was mint green! Eeek! Although, pink is still a firm favorite too :)

  3. That's kind of the mindset that I've started with. Do I want my 800th blush or a new dish towel?
