Christmas Tag 2014

Wednesday, December 24, 2014

December is such a funny month- as manic and chaotic as it is running around the shops (and tackling a to-do list as long as your arm) it's always seems to go so quickly. It feels like yesterday I was carving my Halloween pumpkin and watching fireworks on bonfire night, but Christmas has that way of sneaking up no matter how prepared you think you are. My Christmas eve usually involves seeing family, swapping presents with people I'm not going to see until the new year and some last minute shopping- I'm looking forward to spending the last day in the run up to Christmas feeling as festive as possible. Soon it's all going to be over for another year, so time to make the most of it while it lasts!

What is your favourite Christmas song?
This is a difficult one, on December 1st I love them all and have Christmas songs on the go non-stop. By the third week of December as you can imagine, I'm pretty much over them (this is typical of me, I really should learn to do things in moderation!)

What is your favourite festive drink?
Hot chocolate with loads of marshmallows!

Do you have a favourite Christmas film?
I've mentioned before how I'm not really a film person, while I can watch entire series spanning three years in the space of a few days when I get started (see what I mean about moderation? ha) when it comes to investing mental effort into a two or three hour film I can rarely manage it. However I did watch Polar Express for the first time this year and thought it was amazing, I'd never even heard of it until the other day.

What is your favourite festive makeup or nail art look?
I do love a festive berry/ red lipstick at this time of year, I usually pull out my tackiest glitter polishes throughout December too. But I've mainly just had shellac on my nails recently- they last for two weeks at a time so haven't had bare nails at any point to play around with different polishes.

What is your favourite outfit at Christmas time? (LBD? Christmas jumper? PJ's?)
Cosy pyjamas, dressing gown, fluffy socks and slippers. Anything fluffy, comfortable and cosy basically. I love how cute Christmas jumpers look on other people, but as jumpers are one of the most unflattering types of clothing item on me I steer clear.

Would you rather play out in the snow or enjoy it from inside with the fire and a cuppa?
Both! I love getting my wellies on and taking my dogs out in the snow as soon as it settles because they go crazy for it. But coming home afterwards and getting warm again is always pretty great.

Wrapping presents - love or loathe?
I usually enjoy wrapping the first few and then start to get bored. You can always tell which ones I've wrapped early on and the ones that were done last by how neat or untidy they are!

What is your favourite Christmassy food?
Being able to eat chocolate for breakfast, and generally being able to snack on crap relatively guilt free knowing the inevitable new year health kick is right around the corner.

What is your favourite thing about Christmas?
Everything- I love it all! I like that even boring places like supermarkets feel really festive, and when there's Christmassy music, decorations and lights everywhere it's impossible to be in a bad mood.

What are you up to this Christmas eve?
