Schwartzkopf Ultime Diamond Colour Range

Sunday, December 07, 2014

If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen that I've been a bit back and forth with my hair colour over the past few weeks. After being blonde for a couple of years I was starting to get fed up with maintaining it, plus regularly bleaching my hair that's already very fine was never going to be the best thing for it. I'd been looking back on photos of myself with jet black hair, and in a moment of bravery decided to take the plunge and go for it. But a week on and I was having doubts, without makeup and fake tan it was making my pale face look even paler and all in all wasn't doing a whole lot for me. So a couple of hair strippers (those things are miracle workers!) and a couple more dyes and I'm now at a much lighter and more flattering colour, but after all that messing around with hair dye and hair dye strippers my hair was understandably left feeling a tad dry and sorry for itself. Not brilliant seeing as one of the reasons I wanted to go darker again was so my hair could be healthier! But with the help of some really great products from Schwartzkopf I can honestly say that my hair is feeling as good as new, with the overall feel and condition they've got it to you'd never know I'd recently been dabbling with damaging hair dyes.

I've used Schwartzkopf products on and off for as long as I can remember, with them being such a well known household name you always know their products are going to be reliable and work well. I've been using five products from their new Essence ULTÎME Diamond Color range: a shampoo and conditioner, a hair mask, an oil and a shine spray- I haven't liked a haircare range this much in ages. These are highstreet products and have easily performed as well as (if not better) than a lot of the high end hair products I'ved used this year, the stars of the show for me are definitely the mask and the oil. You know after you've used a hair dye or bleach and your hair feels all tangly and disgusting when it's wet? That's how mine felt, but I kid you not after just one application of the mask the softness was completely restored. It says to leave it on for one minute after washing but I applied it for about half an hour and covered my hair with cling film. As soon as I began to rinse this out I could tell the difference it had made. After washing I've been applying the oil to damp hair and again was hugely impressed, it's such a lovely product. It feels like velvet and applies really nicely to the hair, with no heaviness or greasiness whatsoever. The shine spray is a nice addition to the range too, while it's not going to improve the overall feel or quality it leaves it looking shiny and sleek without weighing it down- perfect for over the party season when you want your hair to look extra special!

If your hair is in need of a pick me up but you don't want to fork out loads for high end haircare right before Christmas then this will be just what you're after. Excellent quality yet affordable products, and easy to get hold of in Boots, Superdrug and supermarkets.

What are your winter haircare saviours?

  3. Love Schwarzkopf products! I'm currently using the Color Freeze range but might try these as they're a bit cheaper and easier to get hold of!
