Nicky Clarke Diamond Shine Curling Wand Review

A curling wand that contains real crushed diamonds? Oh yes, such a thing does exist! Meet Nicky Clarke's 'Diamond Shine' pro salon styler, not only is it beautifully packaged with a white handle and gold barrel but it's a bit more special than your average curling wand. After about six weeks of messing around with hair dyes (more on that in another post) I've got a brand new hair colour and new human hair extensions to boot. Which means rather than hiding away brassy hair in a ponytail (which is pretttty much what I've been doing for the last couple of months) I'm actually enjoying styling it again, and this wand has been my go-to heat styling tool.

I know what some of you might be thinking, crushed diamonds in a curling wand- what a gimmick! But you'd be wrong, not only does it give it an air of luxury but infused with ceramic the diamonds have a number of hair friendly benefits. First of all they create a super hard surface meaning you're able to create incredibly smooth and snag free curls, and they also provide an even and efficient heat distribution. This means you need to hold the curler on your hair for less time which is of course less damaging. There are five heat settings so it's a great tool for all hair types too, fine hair isn't going to be sizzled off and you wont have to sit around for ages waiting for thick hair to curl; it works amazingly on both my natural hair and hair extensions. Intelligent heaters automatically adjust the temperature along the barrel to prevent loss of heat and damaging hot spots during styling, making it possibly the least damaging heat styling tool on the market.

Another huge plus point about this (and something that I think all heat tools should have) is the fact that it has an auto shut off. This means that if you happen to rush out of the door in the morning and forget to turn it off you don't have to worry about accidently setting the house on fire. Curling wands in general get incredibly hot and could do some serious damage left on all day, so it's nice having that peace of mind with these. I really love the loose wavy curls this size barrel gives, and along with all of the extra features this is definitely my favourite curling wand at the moment.
