Picking up stocking fillers has got to be one of the most fun parts of Christmas shopping; unlike buying a main present there's no stress of committing to just one thing, and instead you can pick up smaller items as you find them over the space of a couple of weeks. With so many cute and inexpensive bits and pieces available you can really go to town here and put together something amazing!

Throughout December keep your eyes peeled in places like supermarkets, market stalls, highstreet shops and bargain sites like ebay for inexpensive items. I know people often stuff stockings with novelties and jokey things, but I've chosen nice quality pieces instead and carefully selected things that I know I'd personally love to receive and think others would too. I've tried to cover all bases, and have chosen things from the following categories: beauty, fashion, stationery, jewellery, homeware, drinks/ edibles and a couple of miscellaneous items. When you're looking for ideas it can help to think out about what the person you're buying for likes, and what are their hobbies are and basing your searches around that.

Hopefully this will spark your imagination, and give you ideas for the females you're buying for this year. Unlike yesterday's 'luxury gift guide for women' (here), everything in this post is all very affordable, the majority of these things are just a couple of pounds each!

What are your favourite stocking fillers to receive?
