Blogmas #9 Gift Guide For Him

Image Map There's no doubt about it, men are hard to buy for. Ive been with my boyfriend for almost five years and yet every year I have the same dilemma when it comes to buying gifts (usually even he doesn't even know what he wants which doesn't make it very easy for me!) In order to help out anyone else in the same situation, I've decided to round up ten gift ideas which should please even the fussiest of recipients.

I think its fair to say that a large proportion of men out there have fairly simple grooming routines, however shaving stuff tends to be something that most need and will actually use. If he's a clean shaven kinda guy then the set above by Gillette is a particularly nice one, it's limited edition to celebrate the release of the new Spectre film. It contains a Flexball razor (which responds to the contours of the face which makes shaving comfortable and precise) and includes two spare blades and a can of Proglide shaving gel. For those who prefer a more versatile device, the Braun CruZer Face 6 is definitely one to check out. It has the option to give a close shave, neat trim or defined edges. It can cut to four different lengths, can be used both wet or dry and a voltage that can be used worldwide so ideal for use at home or when travelling. Absolutely perfect if you want to buy a shaving gift but aren't really sure exactly what they use or like- it really does cover all bases and is something that pretty much all men could use, regardless of how they shave or style their beard. It's rechargeable, cordless and completely washable making it easy to use and hassle free.

Aftershave is another easy one and again is something that most men will use and appreciate, you could go with a repurchase of one of their favourite scents or choose something new if you feel like you know their taste well enough. For fashion and accessories I've gone with gloves, a belt and a wallet. The good thing about these types of things is you can get them within all price ranges, but spending a bit more and going with a designer brand makes for a good quality main present. I thought the wash bag would make a nice practical gift; handy for holidays and trips away or even for the gym. Gadget and tech gifts tend to go down well, I've gone with headphones and iPhone docking speakers as my examples but there are so many out there. Finally if you're really stuck you could always go for a bottle of their favourite alcohol. A large bottle of spirits is a good kind of price range for a gift, or you could even go with a luxury boxed bottle if you wanted to spend a bit more.

Do you struggle when it comes to buying gifts for men?

  1. thankfully, I only have to buy for dad, brother and fiancé, and given I know what they need it's not too hard at all. Great guide though for those stuck. Good luck ladies!
