ghd's Arctic Gold Range: Drying Gift Set Review

When it comes to styling tools, you can't go wrong with ghd. Great quality and luxurious; they're probably best known for their amazing straighteners but did you know they also have a number of different hair dryers, curling wands and hair products in their range? Their newest Arctic Gold collection features a selection of gorgeous gift sets, which all packaged up in these seriously swoon worthy gold and white boxes. While Christmas might have come and gone if you're looking for gift ideas for upcoming birthdays, Valentines Day or even mothers day then this range is one to pop on your list- not only do they come perfectly boxed but who wouldn't want to receive a luxury new styling tool? Hairdryers especially are something that most people will get a lot of use out of, and so if you're looking for an upgrade (or are looking to treat someone else) then this is the one I recommend!

There are two main things I usually look for in a hairdryer and that's being comfortable to hold- ie not being too heavy and causing an achy arm, and the ability to get my hair dry as quickly as possible. I'm sure we'd all agree that drying wet hair isn't the most fun job in the world, and so I like something that will get the job done with as little fuss as possible. The ghd Air is a powerful, professional strength hair dryer patented with technology to give you a salon finish, with a high pressure air flow for super fast drying. Having naturally straight hair I don't have to battle with frizz but I am often left with a lot of flyaways after blowdrying- something that I didn't get with this at all, my hair was left looking much more sleek and shiny than usual which is always a bonus! While I wouldn't describe it as being light, it's certainly lighter than my previous hair dryer which makes it much easier and more convenient to use too. It of course has other features you'd expect from a hairdryer including two strength settings, two heat settings and a cold air button. It comes with a slim nozzle which is great for styling, and is also compatible with the ghd air diffuser which would be handy for those with curly hair. The ghd logo on the back is a nice feature, and the matte black casing is gorgeous and gives it an all-round expensive looking finish.

At £79 (reduced from £99) it's really quite reasonably priced for a high end hairdryer. When you think how a hairdryer is something that you're going to be using most days- or at least multiple times a week- you want something that's going to perform well and work quickly. When it comes to styling tools like this it's always better to invest in something you know will last and work well, rather than having to keep buying cheaper replacements. I can tell that this is something that will last perfectly, and that I'll be using for a very long time!
