I absolutely love the summertime, as soon as the weather brightens up I try to get outside and cram in as much fun as possible. Between holidays, festivals and days out it can become quite expensive- but there are plenty of activities you can do too that won't break the bank. If you're at a loose end one evening or weekend and are not looking to spend a fortune, here are a few things you could do!
Have a Picnic
You can go as simple or as elaborate as you like, but all you're really going to need is a some good weather, a blanket and a bag or picnic hamper to hold your supplies (you can buy outdoor dining stuff cheaply on ebay or in supermarkets, and looked after well will last for years to come). A bit of a rummage around in the fridge and viola- picnic time! There are loads of picnic ideas and recipes on Pinterest if you're stuck for what to bring.
Go on Long Walks/ Dog Walks
This is one of my favourite things to do when the weather is nice, we usually visit all of our local parks, nature reserves and National Trust spots for a walk around. Another thing I like doing is putting my dog on the lead, load up my 'maps' app and head towards the direction of woods, fields or rivers. I've found so many great places that I just wouldn't have come across any other way, it's good exercise and you can usually get some great wildlife pictures too.
I think most of us have a tent stashed away somewhere, seeing as it takes up precious cupboard space all year round why not put it to some good use while the weather is nice? Fill up the car with your tents, sleeping bags, food, drinks and treats and take a little road trip to a camping spot.
Go Camping
Go on a Bike Ride
If you're not sure where to go, a quick google search will show you your local bike trails. Alternatively you could just head out and see where it takes you! If you don't own a bike you can rent them quite cheaply, or keep an eye on freebie classified ads/ gumtree and see if you can snag one on there.
Plan Some Rainy Day Activities
If like me you live in good old England, you can guarantee at least a few rainy days over the summer. Rather than sit around bored, plan some fun rainy day activities. Baking, writing, crafting or just putting your feet up and having a Netflix day. You could play a game, or even have a browse of a casino site such as top mobile casino.
Throw a Barbeque
Spend a bit of time getting your garden looking nice, and you'll reap the rewards all summer by being able to throw lots of barbeques and outdoor parties. If you ask guests to bring a dish, then you can throw a decent barbeque for really cheaply and it's a fun way to get everyone together on a sunny day. Keep an eye on the weather forecast for a sunny afternoon!
