After giving my hair a treat with Nspa's 'Hair Rituals' products, I was more than happy to give their skincare a test drive too. If like me you're partial to at least a couple of pamper evenings a week (and chances are, if you're reading this blog you will be!) you'll know that high quality but affordable products are key. I'll shamelessly admit that creating my own little 'at home spa' is one of my favourite passtimes, but if you're going to go ahead and spend hundreds of pounds on the products (lucky you) then surely you might as well go to a high-end salon? It's all about products that smell great, feel luxurious but don't cost an arm and a leg- which is where brands like Nspa really come into their own. As with the Hair Rituals haircare line, the Beauty Rituals skincare also comes in a number of sequential steps; there seems to be lots of different Beauty Rituals products available, so I'm guessing you can mix and match your steps to best suit your skin's needs.

1. Melting Cleansing Gel*/ 2. Skin Renewal Gel*
These are the two 'use in the bath' products; I have to say I was a bit confused at with them first, and wasn't sure what to make of them. Both are gel formulations that break into an oil when they're massaged into the skin, and both feel quite difficult to rinse off- almost as though they've left a slight residue of oil. I wasn't too sure I liked how they felt, but as soon as I towel dried my face I very swiftly changed my mind. I don't think my skin has ever felt so soft- it was a bit of a 'eureka' moment there in the bath. The Skin Renewal Gel is a grain-free exfoliator that 'gently melts away dead skin cells to leave a soft, radiant completion.' I'd never even heard of a grain free exfoliator up until now but thought it sounded like a great idea, especially if like me you tend to get a bit scrub happy and come out of the bath with a face that looks red raw. I'm not sure how well this would work on very dry or flaky patches, but on my normal/combination skin it worked like an absolute dream. The cleanser can be applied and washed straight off, but the instruction state that the Renewal Gel should be massaged into the skin for two minutes. Obviously this means it's not the speediest product that you can slap on quickly in the morning, but if you have the time to to go through and use it properly I highly recommend it because the end result is brilliant. You can also remove this with a hand-hot damp muslin cloth, which would certainly make removing it a lot easier if you were in more of a rush.

3. Deep Hydrating Facial Oil*
If you have oily or acne-prone skin you'll probably be running for the hills at the sound of an oil based moisturiser. However this is really light and as you can imagine leaves the skin feeling really hydrated once it's absorbed. This was exactly the product I needed a few months ago when I was suffering with dry skin, I bet it would have got rid of it in a flash. It comes with a pipette applicator so you can accurately dispense a few drops out without getting yourself in a big greasy mess, and this little bottle is likely to last for ages because you only need a couple of drops for your entire face.

4. Oil- Free Moisture Gel*
I wait until the facial oil in step three has completely absorbed and then apply this, it's the perfect light moisturiser to finish the previous three steps. It absorbs quickly and feels nice and light on the skin. I'm not sure why this is specifically 'oil free' when the previous steps are based on oils, but I'm not questioning it because by the feel of my skin it all obviously works well together.

I was definitely a bit confused when I initially tried the first two steps in this routine, but the finished result really is something special. My skin feels soft and smooth, and despite the first three steps being oil based it hasn't broken me out and it doesn't leave the skin feeling slippery or greasy. I have nothing negative to say about this brand; the prices are great, the products work well and everything has the most gorgeous scent. Next on my list of things to try is their hot cloth cleanser! Nspa products can be found in Asda stores and on their website.
