Mac Lipstick £15 Available Here

Even if you're a fan of Mac lipsticks, and know your stuff when it comes to their shades (and if you're reading this, well there's a good chance you do) this might be one that's passed you by. It's definitely not one I've heard too much about in beauty blogging land, and it's not exactly a colour that screams 'buy me' out of the myriad of wild and wonderful shades Mac offers either. While I have have a Mac lipstick wishlist as long as my arm, I decided to skip over the likes of anything too neon or seasonal such as Vegas Volt and Candy Yum Yum in favour of something that I was going to actually wear regularly (quite good going really, seeing as sensibility does tend to go out of the window when buying makeup, clothes and shoes). After a bit of a Googling session 'Please Me' was a clear winner. Those who love a good blogger cliche might describe it as 'your lips but better' but unfortunately even quoting that makes me cringe a bit, so I'll stick with 'neutral, mid pink and easy to wear.'

Please Me is a matte formulation, but no need to go running for the hills if you suffer from dreaded dry lips like I often do. It doesn't feel powdery or heavy, and doesn't suck out all of the moisture leaving you looking like a puckered old prune. Instead it sits quite comfortably, there's a slight sheen when it's first applied that dries down to a matte finish that lasts for ages. This was definitely a good choice for the daytime as you can swipe it on in the morning and not have to worry about it again until lunchtime; I'm a lipstick fanatic as much as the next member of the female species, but it doesn't mean I want to be reapplying and checking on it every twenty minutes.

Please Me is an almost identical shade to one of my most worn lipsticks, 'Celeb' by Rimmel. Sadly the Rimmel one has been discontinued, and so if it happened to be one of your favourites too Please Me should slot into your life quite nicely. There might be a huge price difference, but in all fairness it's much more fun applying a Mac lipstick than it is a Rimmel one (not that I'm slating Rimmel lipsticks, I love 'em!). While bright and vibrant shades are my ultimate weakness when it  comes to buying lipsticks, I'm glad to have a great daytime shade like this in my collection. It goes with any makeup look and is effortlessly pretty without making too much of a statement. If you're drowning in a sea of bold lipsticks and constantly find yourself looking for the perfect daytime staple, give 'Please Me' a bit of a swatch and see what you think!
