Top Five: Berry Products For Autumn and Winter

Back in the summertime I wrote a post about my love for my top five coral makeup products. So now that autumn has set in, you can bet that I'm now all over anything berry toned for autumn and winter; I love that it's a bit less full on than true red, and is a great deep colour that makes a nice change from all of the pastels I've been using over the last six months. Everything from berry toned clothes to accessories to beauty products have been catching my eye recently, and I've racked up a fair amount of bits and pieces. Here are five of my favourite berry toned beauty bits.

Lipsticks: Mac Rebel & Kate by Rimmel 107
These are the berry lipstick champions, one from the highstreet and the other slightly more high end. Probably two of the most hyped berry toned lipsticks out there and I can easily see why. Both shades are gorgeous, Rebel leans slightly more pink/ fuschia while 107 leans more towards burgundy/ red- there's a place in your collection for both if you're a berry toned lip lover. While both are marketed as semi- matte/ satin formulations they do feel quite different, Rebel is a bit more of a long lasting creme lipstick where as 107 has a velvety texture that I've only ever experienced in certain Rimmel lipsticks. I love the formula of both, they're long lasting without making dry winter lips even more dehydrated.

Eyeshadow: Maybelline Colour Tattoo Metallic Pomegranate & Mac Cranberry
A true match made in heaven, these look lovely layered up together. I've mentioned before about how my attempts at wearing coloured eyeshadow have resulted in a hideous looking clown face (either it was my sub-par makeup skills or I'm just too old!) but because they're still quite neutral they're the perfect way to introduce a bit of colour to your eyeshadow. They might not strictly be berry coloured but they definitely have a bit of a burgundy hue, which is probably as 'berry' as an eyeshadow can be without making you look like you've come down with some kind of illness. Even though they're both beautiful when used separately I've really be enjoying using this little duo together, they're definitely my most worn shadows at the moment along with Mac's Espresso blended into the crease (I finally invested in a Mac palette, I tried convincing myself it wasn't necessary but it turns out it was. I love it!)

George Gel Pro Plum
I've seen some quite mixed reviews for these new Gel Pro polishes by George, but I only have good things to say about them. While the colour selection is limited, all of the shades are really pretty and are opaque in one coat. This is my favourite at the moment, less purple than the name 'Plum' would suggest but a great burgundy/ deep berry shade. I want to get my hands on Barry M 'Burgundy' and OPI 'Vampsterdam' next, and basically any other nail polish in a similar colour. I have quite a few dark purple and nude shades that I love wearing at the time of year too but George Plum is a clear winner for me at the moment!
