Five Festive Favourites: Lip Products

Welcome to part two of my little festive favourites series, I spoke about the glitter polishes I've been admiring on my nails throughout December so far in this post. When you think of Christmassy lip colours bright red immediately springs to mind, but rather than roundup my favourite red lipsticks (which I've already rambled on about here) I've been playing around with a few other products that have been sadly cast off to the back of my makeup collection throughout the rest of the year. I think Christmas is definitely a time where you can experiment with your makeup a bit more, and a chance to give some abandoned products their fifteen minutes of festive fame. Here are five of my current favourites, a couple of which are staples and others that I've dug out especially for Christmas time!

This is a bright fuschia pink that's full of purple sparkles. I can't say that too many occasions crop up throughout the year that I'd think to dig it out, but it's perfect for Christmas time. I wore this on a night out around this time last year and really liked how it looked in the photos.

This is a product I've used and loved throughout the whole of the colder season so far, great for a bold Christmassy lip colour but without the maintenance. Lip crayons my favourite type of lip products, easy to wear, comfortable and are forgiving on the odd bit of winter dryness. Because it can be applied lightly as more of a stain it's a nice daytime choice.

I'm not much of a lip gloss wearer but I love this one for over Christmas time. It gives a pretty red sparkle to any dark lip product, and as Barry M lip glosses aren't too sticky it doesn't feel like a chore to wear. I like wearing it over Revlon's Crush (above) for a long-wearing sparkly red lip colour. It has a really nice cherry scent too which is never a bad thing!

Revlon Super Lustrous Iced Amythest
I'l readily admit that Revlon's Super Lustrous lipsticks aren't my favourite Revlon formulas, they have a metallic look to them which usually I avoid. However I actually really like in this lipstick, it's showing up bungundy in the swatch but it wears as more of a cool metallic purple. Again not something I'd go for all year, but a fun one for over Christmas time.

A compilation of favourite festive lipsticks wouldn't be complete without the perfect red, Ruby Woo is just classic, timeless and gorgeous. Although dressing up on Christmas day isn't my kinda thing (I prefer lounging around in comfy new pjs), but if I was then I think this would be a perfect Christmas day lip colour. While the super matte formula is undoubtedly a pain to apply, once that colour is on it's not going anywhere for a good while. Love it!
