New Years Eve Textured Waves With Braun Sensocare Styler

It's easy to think of waves as a casual, beachy hairstyle, but it's a look I wear a lot for nights out too. Unlike curls or 'straight and sleek' hair, the overall look isn't too polished or perfect to begin with meaning it easily holds up throughout the night (and wont leave you looking too bedraggled come midnight!) If like me you're notorious for spending most of your getting ready time doing your makeup, textured waves are so quick do and need no preparation at all. This is how I'm wearing my hair tonight for new years eve 2013- woohoo!

Wearing plaits to bed is a great way to achieve easy, heatless waves- but if you don't have a spare eight hours to wait for them to set this is a much quicker method. I find that when I wear plaits overnight my hair can look a bit tooo wavy in the morning, this gives a looser more textured wave. You simply apply a styling spray (I used Macadamia Control Spray hairspray), plait the hair and then use the styler to apply heat along the lengths. I used the Braun Sensocare Styler, it automatically adjusts temperature so doesn't damage the hair like most heat styling tools. I've owned GHD's for years now; as much as I think they're brilliant straighteners, I've never understood why they don't have the option to change the heat settings. This thing really is ingenius, not only does it automatically detect the moisture level of each hair strand from root to tip, it actively adjusts its temperature accordingly and delivers exactly how much heat your hair needs. You're able to setup your hair profile so that it works best on your particular hair type based on length, thickness and whether or not your hair is coloured, so you're never applying too much damaging heat to your precious locks. For this style I started with my extensions clipped in, but for daily use I'd use one profile for my natural hair and another for my extensions which are a lot thicker and wavier. Once I was happy with the waves, I finished the look by adding a french plait along the front and teased the crown of my hair.

I'm so impressed with this styler, the way it automatically adjusts heat as well as allowing you to setup your hair profile pleases me greatly. It does an amazing job at straightening too, and because it's less damaging than regular straighteners I feel a lot less guilty putting heat on my hair!
