Simply Bee Skincare Review

Simply Bee Day Cream: £13.60 and Night Cream: £17.50 from SimplyBee*

If you hadn't already noticed from the arctic temperatures and sky high gas bills- winter is officially here! The colder weather has a bit of a nasty habit of taking your face off  stripping the skin of moisture, and so it's definitely beneficial to be making the most of products that put some good stuff back in. Once you find that your regular skincare routine isn't cutting it, it's time to bring out the big guns- products targeted towards dry or dehydrated skin types with ingredients that are going to really get in there and do their job.

My winter skincare saviours this year are in the form of a day and night cream from a brand called 'Simply Bee.' Their products focus on the natural healing powers of beeswax and honey and contain no parabens, sulfates, petrochemicals or other nasty chemicals. Because of the natural ingredient 'Propolis' which is a a natural germ killer (and was even used by the Egyptians to embalm mummies- creepy!) the products in this line have an impressive shelf life of six to twelve months despite being all natural. The cute glass pots are packed to the brim with some of natures most beneficial skincare ingredients; the daily moisturiser contains sweet almond oil, grapeseed carrier oils, lavender essential oil and the night cream contains rich ingredients like shea and cocoa butter. Both products contain their trademark beeswax, taken from bees in Cape Town which forage amongst the worlds richest flowers.

It's the formula and feel of these two products that really sets them apart from anything else I've ever used. They're extremely light, absorb into the skin almost instantly yet leave your skin just as hydrated as a thick rich product would. I've never tried anything else like it, and it's something I think more companies should get on board with (I could definitely live without heavy moisturisers that take forever to absorb). The day cream is perfect under makeup, I can apply my foundation immediately after without the worry of it slipping and sliding around my face. The night cream feels nourishing enough that you're not having to follow up with a load of other products, so ideal if you want to keep your routine simple. The light scent is inoffensive, and because they contain no irritating ingredients would work for any skin skin type.
