I Heart New Shoes

You know when you spot an item of clothing, an accessory or a pair of shoes and straight away you know they're so 'you'? Well such a magical occasion happened to me the other day, when I spotted this gorgeous pair of pink mary-janes from clothing retailer Joe Browns. Joe Browns are a brand who have always caught my interest, I've had a few pieces from them over the years that I've loved and worn to death. Their stuff is quite quirky and unique- a bit different from what you'd find on the highstreet but not so 'out there' that I'm way out of my comfort zone. I'm currently obsessing over these, and know they're going to be a firm favourite this spring and summer!

This style of shoe is possibly my all time favourite style for the daytime, a low heel with a strap over the foot. I can only assume that I have narrow feet, because I often have the problem of literally 'stepping out' of my shoes even when they fit perfectly. There have been times it's even happened when I've been crossing main roads (which is always a moment of sheer terror, I mean what do you do? Run off and leave without a shoe or risk your life bending down to pick it up?) When I have a strap across the foot I know that my shoes aren't going to be accidentally leaving my feet. Admittedly this isn't probably something the average person has to worry about, but is definitely a plus point for me. They're made out of a dreamy pink suede material and have a subtle but pretty scalloped edge going around the foot, and while you're not going to see the vintage style floral insoles once they're on your feet it's still a really nice detail. Finally the corsage flowers on the strap are a lovely finishing touch, and give the shoes a little something extra without being garish or OTT. The chunky low heel means they're SO comfortable and easy to walk in too- in fact because of the way they support your feet I'd say they were even more comfortable than flats.

Overall they're just a really cute pair of shoes, ideal for wearing casually or to go with a slightly more dressy daytime outfit. I think they'd be great to wear to a summer wedding or to a nice lunch, and know I'll be getting loads of use of of these this year. They're well made, fit perfectly and fill a 'dressy daytime shoe' void I had in my life.

Have you ever bought anything from Joe Browns?
