When it comes to makeup, application really is key. If you're spending money on high end products and applying them using rubbish tools, you might as well flush your money down the toilet for all the good it's doing you! But it's not only high end products that deserve proper application, decent makeup brushes can make the most of very average products and so whether your makeup bag is stuffed with Chanel or MUA good brushes are absolutely essential. The only problem is that brushes can be pretttyyy pricey. Swing by any high end makeup counter and you'll be looking to pay £30+ per brush, and you can even clock up a small fortune buying offerings from the highstreet such as Real Techniques brushes. Luckily Uspicy have come to the rescue with their brush set- ten high quality gift boxed brushes for just £1.79 each, bargain!

If you've ever used the Real Techniques 'eBay dupe' brushes you'll be familiar with these. They're just as soft (if not softer) than actual Real Techniques brushes and are just as well made, there's zero shedding when washing them and the handle and ferrule both feel nice and sturdy. If you're looking for cheaper alternatives to Real Techniques brushes then these are exactly it- not only are they a fraction of the price, but come in a wider variety of shapes and sizes. From looking at pictures of the set online I was a bit unsure about the smaller brushes, just because they're a bit big and the wrong shape to be used for eyeshadow. But the guide that comes with this set (also very handy) states that they're little face brushes, and can be used for things like precision concealer application and contouring areas like the nose. Up until now I've never really spent time really perfecting small areas on my face, but now that I have there's no going back because you can get your skin looking absolutely flawless! I've had a good play around with these now and I'm so impressed, there's not one brush here I wont use. If you're looking to achieve a perfect looking base this set is for you, from buffing in foundation to contouring to concealing there's a brush in here that's ideal for the job.

I'm so impressed with the quality and value of these. While you'll still need eyeshadow and fluffier powder brushes in addition to these, they contain everything you need to get your base looking just right. I love that they're nicely presented in a gift box (a gift any beauty lover would definitely appreciate!) and the quality is so nice they look and feel a lot more expensive than they are too.

Is this set something you'd try?
