Memebox Skincare Box Review

Memebox (price varies) Skincare Box above costs around £17

This is my third Memebox now, and I'm becoming more and more addicted- it really makes my day when a new box arrives and I've got a load of new Asian beauty products to play around with! If you're new to Memebox they're a Korean beauty box service, they have a wide selection of themed boxes on their website and you can simply buy one that you like the sound of. Each box contains a surprise selection of high quality Korean beauty goodies based on that theme, meaning you get all the surprise of a regular beauty box without being tied into a subscription. I've discovered so many amazing new products from these last three boxes that I'm planning on re-vamping my entire skincare routine in order to include them. This is their 'Memebox Special Skincare #9' and contains five full size products as well as two samples- I'm always quite amazed how they manage to fit so much into these little boxes!

Boscians 5th Edition Cycle Repair
The packaging states this is a 'wrinkle spot' treatment, and so it took me a minute to work out whether it was designed for wrinkles or spots. A quick skim through the handy card that comes with the box and I discovered it's an anti- wrinkle cream- more specifically an eye cream. Apparently it's much more effective than your average eye cream too which is a bonus. While I don't have bags or wrinkles yet (hoping I can keep them away for a few more years!) I think everyone should have an eye cream in their regime even if its purely for preventative measures. This is quite rich for an eye cream, it's a bit different from the super lightweight serum formulas I've used in the past but so far so good. It doesn't sting the eye area and absorbs quickly.

Snail Bee High Content Essence
If you'd have told me two years ago that I'd be using products with bee venom and 'snail secretion' in them, I'd have wondered which asylum you'd escaped from. This is definitely the thing that grabbed my attention when I opened the box. I've used a few skincare products containing bee venom now, but nothing with snails- it actually took me a while to pluck up the courage to use this as I absolutely hate anything that comes under the general umbrella term of 'disgusting creepy crawlies.' Unfortunately it smells horrible, but luckily the smell only lasts for a few seconds and disappears and so it's bearable. The bee venom and snail secretion supposedly add moisture, brighten skin complexion and prevent aging- the things we do in the name of beauty! I'm currently using a different bee venom serum at the moment, but once I run out I'm going to try and be brave and use this one up.

Dewy Tree Powder in Toner
I'd just finished up the toner I'd been using, and so luckily I had a toner shaped void in my life when this product arrived. I've tried a lot of toners (I use one religiously after washing my face) and can honestly say that I really like this one. A lot of toners can be harsh and drying but this is gentle, refreshing and smells nice. It's a decent 200ml size which will last for ages too.

Dewy Tree White Dew 7 Cut Extreme Serum
This gentle facial serum is designed to lighten and even out freckles, dark spots and uneven skin tone. It's free of parabens, mineral oils, sulfates, talc and other nasty ingredients and works to soothe, tighten and brighten your complexion. I don't have freckles or dark spots and so can't say if it works to reduce them, however I've used it a few times now and it's a lovely product. The light serum consistency is absorbed really quickly and leaves the skin nice and hydrated. I know someone with freckles who would love to give something like this a go, so I'm going to pass it over to them to find out if it works.

Secret Key Super Plumping Jelly
I absolutely love this product, in fact it's probably my favourite product out of all three Memeboxes I've reviewed so far. It's a moisturiser which has a jelly consistency, and as much as I love a novelty product it performs really well too. The product absorbs into the skin immediately, and leaves it nice and hydrated. I'm not sure this would be quite enough for the winter months or for very dry skin types, but it's great for these hot days when you don't want a thick or heavy product sitting on your skin. I've been using it after my morning shower as it's great under makeup.

Samples: Verikos Tightening Cream and Narasang Rose Balancing Toner
These are the two little samples that came with this months box. I'm not sure the toner is quite enough to be able to get a good enough feel for the product, but the tightening cream sounds really promising. It contains ingredients such as collagen and peptides which fight the signs of aging.

What do you think of the contents of this box? Is there anything that you'd like to try?
