In recent years there has been an active recognition of the number of adults who are living in the UK with misaligned or crooked teeth, which has led to active measures being taken to develop treatments that are aimed at addressing their needs. This has also led to an increase in promotional materials to inform these adults that there is no need for them to live with the condition of misaligned teeth any longer than they should wish to. Those living with misaligned teeth know all too well the problems that can be caused by this condition, as well as the discomfort. Many who live with crooked teeth find that they are more prone to suffer from other common dental issues, such as gum disease, tooth decay, and plaque build-up due to the teeth being difficult to clean fully. For those who may be considering making a change and receiving treatment to align their teeth, modern dental technology has now created a new type of aligner with the wishes of the patient in mind, in the form of Invisalign Dublin.
A new aligner with a new way of thinking
Many adults who live with misaligned teeth talk about how they were offered treatment at an earlier time in life, normally in their early teen years, but turn down the opportunity as it was not the right time for them. Then as adults, many simply came to the belief that the opportunity simply passed them by and they are too old to make any meaningful change, which is simply incorrect. But there is one other thing adults want if they are going to receive tooth alignment treatment, they want it to be totally discrete. Due to the way Invisalign aligners are made the patient can have the discretion they desire while receiving the treatment they feel they need and want.
Invisible once in place
Made from two layers of clear, strong, and durable plastic this is an aligner that is designed to be hidden in plain sight, once in place. This allows the patient to receive treatment without others being able to tell, the only way other people will know that a patient is receiving treatment is if the patient tells them. Should the patient experience any discomfort during their treatment, they can remove the aligning device for a short time and place it back once the discomfort passes, this gives the patients a greater sense of being in control of their treatment.
Prepare to make a change
Before starting to be treated with Invisalign the patient will need to attend an appointment with a dentist or orthodontist to have their teeth fully examined and their needs fully assessed. At this appointment the teeth of the patient may be scanned or x-rayed, the results of which will be used to aid in the creation of a series of aligners that are designed to meet the individual patient's need.
Each aligner is worn for around two weeks and then replaced with the next in the series until the treatment course is completed. Treatment will normally last for twelve to eighteen months to achieve the desired results
