The Dry Skin 'Dream Team' From Clarins

Clarins Multi Active Day Cream/ Clarins Treatment Oil* from Escentual

Over the past few weeks I've been giving my skincare routine a bit of an overhaul; the lightweight products I used over the summer were no longer doing much in the way of protecting or hydrating my much drier and more sensitive winter skin. Now that I'm reaching dangerous aging territory in my mid twenties I'm especially interested in making sure I'm using the right products for my skin type and the season, and so I took to Escentual to have a bit of a browse. These are two of the products I decided on, and I can honestly say that used together make the absolute dream duo for dry skin. They've immediately become favourites, and reckon they're more than enough to stop winter causing havoc with my face!

Clarins Treatment Oil
I was converted to facial oils after using Nspa's 'deep hydrating' offering, previously I'd have run a mile at the idea of using oil on my face. While I loved and used every drop of the Nspa version, as you can probably guess this Clarins face oil is just worlds apart. It's light and absorbs quickly but really does moisturise the skin, my face feels perfectly hydrated after using this and not at all greasy or congested (like you'd assume putting oil on your face would do!) If you suffer with dry winter skin this will give you an instant moisture boost- I think there's only so much that regular facial moisturisers can do, so treatments like this are well worth investing in. You can tell it's a high end product from the feel of the packaging alone, the glass is weighty and gorgeous and gives you that warm and fuzzy feeling that only a lovely high end product can.

Clarins Multi Active Day Cream
Another beautifully packaged Clarins product, this comes in a heavy frosted glass pot that's so nice it would put any ornamental paperweight to shame. This is an early wrinkle correction cream, perfect for us twenty-somethings looking for good preventative anti aging skincare. I've been using this in the mornings, and in the evenings I've been applying the treatment oil over my beloved Origins Drink Up Intensive. I think it's fair to say that I'm well and truly won over by high end skincare; great news for my skin, not so much for my bank balance. But if it saves me needing a facelift in twenty years time then it's well worth the investment right?!
