There's no doubt about it, having a tan can do wonders for your appearance. I know myself that having a bit of colour on my usual wishy-washy skin makes me look healthier and feel more confident, and so it's no wonder we all crave that bronzed summer look. But frying yourself in the sun without proper sun protection is a fast-track way to skin that looks like a wrinkled up old prune, I don't know about you but I find that a scary thought. In ten years that holiday tan will be long gone, but any aging and damage caused from not properly protecting the skin will most definitely have stuck around. Although these days it's easy to protect your face with moisturisers and makeup containing SPF, on those (rare) hot summer days here in the UK or when I'm away on holiday I always still manage to get a bit burned (usually across my nose and cheeks, giving me a big red 'butterfly' across my face- attractive or what). Sunscreen is never the most fun product to apply, even liquid sunscreen designed for the face can still look a bit oily. What do you need when you're already hot, another greasy layer of oil over the skin? I don't think so.

I reviewed some products from 'Touch in Sol' an Asian cosmetics brand a few weeks ago (here and here), and included in the parcel was this illusive little product 'Pang Pang Sun Cutting Powder*' I've mentioned before that the names of these products are a bit strange, and on first observation I couldn't work out what it was supposed to do. But since Touch in Sol's website has been revamped with more information about the products I've been having a bit of a browse, and discovered that this is actually a  powder sunscreen which I think is pretty ingenious. It has an amazing SPF 45 in, so if like me your skin tone can give a bottle of milk a run for it's money this should still easily be enough protection. You apply by dabbing across the face using the built-in sponge, the product is translucent and extremely lightweight so doesn't look heavy or cakey on the skin. Best of all it can be used over the top of makeup, so application as well as any topups throughout the day are really easy (it even has a little mirror in the lid for when you're out and about, bonus).

I've got this in my handbag in the hopes of some decent summer weather arriving, and think it would be the perfect thing to pop into your travel bag if you're off on holiday this year! There's a huge 10g of product which will last for absolutely ages. At the moment everything on the Touch in Sol website has 10% off with free postage to the UK, so if you're looking to try out some quality Asian cosmetics they're well worth checking out!
