Must- Visit Cities in the South of France


Lots of us have France on our travel bucket lists, due to it's beautiful locations and sites, elegance, and rich culture. While there are plenty of gorgeous rural and countryside destinations, it tends to be the cities many of us are drawn to where they're vibrant, interesting and historic. You'll have to ask yourself what city should i live in after visiting all of them and experiencing their beauty. Here are a few French cities that really need to be on your bucket list. 

Cannes
This city in France is best known for its annual film festival which brings with it a myriad of A-list stars and paparazzi. The city is always alive and busy during this time of year and is an ideal time to go if you're a big movie fan. There tends to be fashion and film events going on throughout the year, and on top of this, there are lots of beautiful beaches where you can go to relax. If you're travelling with a group or just want your privacy, why not consider villas in southern France instead of a hotel? It could be the ideal way to enjoy Cannes.

Nice
If you're a big jazz fan, then Nice is the place to visit. Famous for it's jazz festival that's held annually, it brings with it many jazz artists from all the world and is one of the biggest jazz festivals in the world.  Nice is home to a number of interesting museums such as Musée Matisse and Musée Masséna which contain artistic works from French painters. 

Avignon
Avignon is rich in history, particularly in Catholic history. One major reason for this is that it's home to the Palais des Papes, one of the biggest Gothic structures in history. It has been home to a number of popes in Europe and contains plenty of religion-related information which can be a fantastic way to learn more and expand your mind. The river Rhone runs through the city which is a perfect place to enjoy a relaxing boat cruise.

Marseille
This is one of the biggest cities in France and is know for it's exciting vibe and energy. It's perfect for  enjoying nightlife as it has many clubs and restaurants which offer amazing French cuisine. When in Marseille, be sure to check out the rooftop bars which give you beautiful views of the city. Marseille is also known for its unique architecture in various buildings. The famous Notre Dame De La Garde is a stunning Catholic basilica with breathtaking designs.
