Hire Security
Security can make everyone feel safer, and when it’s in a physical form, that can feel comforting to all staff. Having security placed on the entrance of your door is something to consider if you have the funds as a business to do so. Or perhaps you could have them for a few hours throughout the day in order to keep check of any specific periods during the week where it might be busier around the area your office is or if there might be certain events going on within the building that require that extra security.
Have Entry Cards Or Fobs
For security in terms of those entering and exiting the building, it’s good to have entry cards or fobs available. Barriers to let them through or to be activated at the door are both options that should be part of your company already, and if not, it’s definitely worth doing. You can easily create your own entry cards for staff with the ID Card Centre. This can be something you do yourself and program with your tech team, or you could outsource it with another company if you don’t want the hassle or dont have the resources available to do so. Make sure that you are retrieving these fobs or ID cards whenever anyone leaves and that you have the ability to deactivate it should one get lost or stolen.
Install Shutters On The Entrance
There are plenty of ways to secure your building. One good way that many businesses use is steel shutters. These shutters are usually installed at the entrances and exits of your building and can either be electronically operated or manually done. Both will seal up the entry point completely and adds an extra layer of protection from the outside. It’s definitely worth having if you have an office where the building is down a side street or on a busy road where lots of people are wandering past at all hours of the day.
Teach Staff To Be Wary
Your staff bare some responsibility to how secure the building is. When any member of staff starts at the company, ensure they have a proper induction and that they are confident about everything from a security point of view. That way, you can rest in the knowledge that it’s very unlikely that a window will be left open or a door will be wide open as they are entering or leaving the building. It can be very easy for anyone to sneak in.
