Simple Ways To Be More Productive At Work

When we enter into the working world, we all go through periods of being less productive. However, money makes the world go round, so you need your job to continue to live the life that you want! There are ways to be more productive at work without actually having to work harder, just smarter.

Find your most productive time and use it!
Throughout the day, our concentration levels drop naturally. This is seen after meals or if we're working long days and our energy levels drop. To be most productive, you need to identify when you're most motivated and do the boring jobs then. Some people find doing boring jobs first thing in the morning means that you've got fun or easy jobs to do for the rest of the day.

To-do lists
You are either a list person or you're not, but using lists is proven to make you more productive at work. If you like to start your morning off slowly you may like to create a list with your morning coffee, however, if you are a go getter, you might want to to make a list for the next day at the end of your current working day. The latter might be the better time to do it, as you will know which jobs you have not completed for the day that are going to be caught up on first thing in the morning. It can also be really rewarding to tick off the jobs you have to do for the day and see how much you actually got done. Make sure you are not overloading your list because you don't want to feel that you're not going to be able to complete your list and disperse longer jobs with smaller tasks to break up your day. We all get distracted at work sometimes, but it's important not to fall into a distraction habit. You can achieve this easily by removing distractions such as; putting your phone phone in a hard to reach area or timing yourself not to use it for an hour at a time. If you work from your phone, this is probably not the right thing to do! However, using the same process as removing your phone could be the same as removing any parts of your property that are distracting to you. Make sure you do not sign into social media via your work laptops or computers. This means it will be less easy for you to get on to those sites and distract yourself with mundane activities so you can finish your work quicker and be more productive.

Find an employer who values you
More employers are starting to reward their staff for their hard work and loyalty to their companies. They are doing this through team activities or rewards systems, and having an employer who is invested in you will automatically make you more productive at work. Some employers use systems such as Amba, which allows you to see directly how much you’re employer values you and have one platform that shows you all your employee benefits.
