Fragrance Friday: Lady Gaga Fame Perfume Review

Don't worry, you haven't been transported back to 2012- it's just that I missed the bandwagon for this perfume by about two years. I did actually have it on my wishlist when it first came out but never ended up picking it up- and being the fickle soul that I am, well it was soon forgotten about over other new and shiny things. But now I'm kicking myself for passing this beauty up, I used a friends bottle before a night out and was like woaahh I have to have this! If you're looking for a new perfume, or had totally forgot this one existed here's one I reckon you should try out.

Created by a woman who wore a red pvc dress to meet the queen and once dressed entirely in meat products- it's fair to say that my expectations when I first heard about this perfume weren't good. I mean, potent and strange smelling perfumes are definitely not my thing and that's what I expected this would be. However I kept seeing rave reviews pop up stating how nice this is and I completely agree; surprisingly what you actually get is a gorgeous mixture of fruits and florals. It's a sweet scent that I think will appeal to most people, but it still has a uniqueness to it without being too 'out there'. Some might criticise it as being too much of a safe choice for Lady Gaga- but seeing as I bought it for the scent rather than the person behind it, personally I couldn't care less. Surely it makes a more sense to appeal to the mass market, than come up with a weird perfume just for the sake of being unique? Fame is supposedly built around three main accords: dark, sensual and light; the notes include belladona, honey, saffron, apricot nectar, tiger orchid and jasmine. I'd say that this is typically an evening scent although I do wear it in the daytime too, it's fairly strong so you don't need to drown yourself in the stuff. Being an EDP the fragrance lasts for ages, I can still easily smell this eight to ten hours after spraying.

While the scent of the perfume might not be typical of what you'd expect from Lady Gaga, the packaging really is. Because I have my perfumes out on display I do tend to go for ones that come in pretty bottles, but I do still like this a lot and the fact that it stands out in my little collection. The gold metal claw on the egg shaped bottle looks kind of space-agey, and the black fluid inside is obviously a lot different to your standard pink and girly celebrity perfume. If you're a bit on the fence about trying this or had completely forgotten about it, I definitely recommend going and giving it a spritz next time you get the chance.

Have you tried Fame? What's your favourite perfume right now?
