We are now well into peak wedding season, and if your wedding is coming up in the next couple of months, you are probably very busy with planning. But it is important that you don’t let one thing slip through the net - sun protection! Summer weddings sure are fun, and all that good weather will help to give your day a real boost, but you need to ensure that everyone is safe having fun in the sun. After all, no one wants to go home with sun burn or, even worse, heat stroke! To make sure your summer lovin’ doesn’t overheat, here are some great tips to help keep all your guests protected in the sun.

Provide Plenty Of Water
You don’t want any of your guests to dehydrate in the heat. Otherwise, someone might end up fainting and could even require medical attention! So, it’s a good idea to have plenty of water on offer throughout the day. Some couples like to add a large vat of water somewhere in their reception and evening party venue. Guests can then help themselves whenever they need a drink. It’s a good idea to ask the catering company to provide plenty of jugs of water during your wedding breakfast too.

Create Lots Of Shade
One way to cut down on all the potential sunburn is to create plenty of shade. This is especially important if the majority of your wedding day is going to be outside. Fews Marquees provide a sophisticated space for you and your guests to enjoy the reception meal, but it will also give everyone a shaded spot to retire to if the sun gets too hot. You might also want to add some additional shade elsewhere outside the venue. For instance, some tippees can create intimate areas where guests can enjoy a drink out of the sun.

Hand Out Parasols
It’s a nice touch to hand out parasols to all your guests. You can often get these quite cheaply in high-street stores like Primark. Parasols allow guests to stay outside if they want, as they can hold their individual parasol to give them some personal shade. This is an especially good idea if you don’t have much room in your venue to create shade using extra tippees and drapes.

Add Sun Cream
It is important that you guests have plenty of sun cream with them to prevent burning. You should add a small note to all your invitations to remind them to bring some along. As well as getting them to bring their own, you might like to offer some to everyone during your wedding. This ensures everyone is protected, even those who forgot to bring theirs along! You don’t need to buy too many bottles, just a couple of small ones on each table at the reception will be enough.
