Tips For a Happy, Healthy Christmas

The festive season isn't the time most of us are thinking about our diet and fitness especially when there are tonnes of parties to attend and all kinds of indulgences at every turn! But actually, health is something we should be thinking about all year round- it might be Christmas but our bodies still need to be treated well in order to thrive. If you want to stay on track with your health goals or get ahead with your new years resolutions, here are some of the ways you can have a happy yet healthy Christmas.

Invest In Home Exercise Equipment
If dragging yourself away from your cosy house to go to the gym each evening sounds like torture, why not buy exercise equipment to use at home instead? Once you've purchased it you won't need to splash out all over again so you'll save money as well as hassle. You could try your luck on sites like Gumtree and Freecycle if you didnt' want to spend much but act fast! Come January and people will be actively searching this stuff out so you'll increase your odds of finding a bargain if you look now. Other ways you could exercise at home is with a fitness DVD, or following a workout on Youtube which you can do without spending a penny. At home HIIT workouts are another thing to try. If you have a busy lifestyle and find that you can’t commit at an hour a day to working out, then try working your body to the max with these fifteen to twenty minute killer workouts.

Moderate Junk Food
This can be a bit of a tricky one around Christmas, as most homes tend to be packed to the brim with all kinds of tasty junk food. Unless you have some incredible will power you probably won't be perfect over Christmas which is fine, but a little moderation definitely goes a long way. Account for treats, but plan your other meals like you normally would which can avoid going way off track. If you've noticed you're lacking fresh produce in your diet, blending up a smoothie each morning is a good way to pack in the good stuff with very little effort.

Shop Around For Supplements
If you’re planning on using dietary supplements to aid your weight loss, save yourself some money by going online to compare prices of prescription medicines. A multivitamin is something that everyone will benefit from taking, and there are plenty of effective herbal tablets that can help with a range of different issues. Read up on what different supplements can do and then take a walk around your local health foods shop to find them. It's a great way to ensure your body isn't lacking in anything.

Keep Hydrated
It's always important to stay hydrated, but over Christmas when the alcohol is flowing it's crucial. It will replenish your system and help to prevent dreaded hangover symptoms. Alternating alcoholic drinks with water throughout the night is a good way to make sure you're not getting too drunk, and you'll feel much better in the morning too. Drinking green tea is an excellent addition, it's the perfect cosy night in drink and is full of antioxidants. So as well as hydrating you, provides loads of great health benefits too.
