5 Tips For Great Hair on Holiday

One of the things that people tend to overlook when traveling is how to take care of their hair. Almost everyone plans their outfit of the day when they go to a foreign place. Of course, everyone wants to look good when taking photos as these serve as your memento of your travel. But even when you are decked head to toe in a stylish outfit, but if your hair is still a mess, it takes away from the beauty of what would have been a perfect OOTD post. When you travel, it is important that you know how to maintain your hair so that it looks good and remains healthy. Depending on where you’re going, whether to a tropical country or for a winter holiday, do your research and find out how you can maintain nice hair. You can check out some of the tips below to begin your knowledge about hair care on holiday.

1. Bring a travel-sized hair straightener or blow dryer
If you want to make sure that your hair really looks beautiful and stylish when you travel to different places, then just bring a hair tool that you cannot live without. If you are staying at a hotel, the good thing is that they usually provide hair dryers in the bathroom. Maybe you can even request if they have a flat iron available. If you are not sure, check with the place you are staying at, and if it is not, better bring your own tools. Make sure that you avail of the travel size so that it will not be bulky and take up too much space in your luggage.

2. Bring your shampoo and conditioner
Most of the complimentary hair products that you get in hotels are cheap and therefore not very effective. You might find yourself having a bad hair day so to avoid that, it would be better to bring your own products instead. If the packaging of your products is too big, look for travel kits or mini bottles so that you can just decant your shampoos and conditioners into smaller containers.

3. Learn some simple hairstyles
If you want to keep your luggage free from hair tools and the like, then it would be good to just learn a few simple hairstyles. This way, you can still look stylish without having to use too many products and with only a little effort. The right hairstyles will allow you to look cute and put together without tonnes of maintenance or heat styling.

4. Get creative with hair accessories
If you’re opting for a simpler hairstyle, then consider bringing some hair accessories such as cloth bands, clips, or hats. Just make sure that they complement your chosen outfit of the day!

5. Load up on pampering hair treatments
Sun and saltwater will both dry your hair very quickly, making it hard to comb or brush. To avoid that, make sure that you moisturize your hair before going into the water, and that you rinse and shower after each time you swim in the saltwater. A deep conditioning masque, an oil and heat protectant spray are all well worth the precious luggage space.
