Creating a Super Low Maintenance For Those Without Green Fingers!

Gardens can be high maintenance to say the least. You have to think about the grass, the flowers, what is in season and what isn’t and even the general tidiness of it. If you have a garden and you don’t want any of this fuss then you have nothing to worry about because it is very easy for you to get the garden that you have always wanted and without the additional stress.

Create an Outdoor Area
One guaranteed way for you to make your garden look great is for you to include a seating area. You can even put down some paving slabs as well. When you do this, you can stop any weeds from growing through and you can also make it super low-maintenance as well. If you are concerned because you think laying flags will cost a small fortune then you will be glad to know that this is not the case at all. In fact, it is super easy for you to lay your own flags and you only need to have a small amount of DIY experience to get this done.

Scale Back your Lawn
If you have a large patch of grass, you will need to feed it, water it and then mow it. This will take a huge amount of time and it will also require a lot of effort as well. If you want to get around this then scale your lawn back. Consider installing some composite decking just outside your back door or even try and expand your flower bed. When you do expand your flower bed, make sure that you dig around a foot deep and then put some tarp down. When you have done this, layer some compost on top and this will stop any weeds from coming through just as well as paving.

Shrubs
Flower beds can be a little harder to maintain in winter and this is especially the case if you have flowers that don’t come back year after year. The main reason for this is because you will have to go out and continually buy more, and this is the last thing that you need. If you want to avoid all of this then look into shrubs, hedges and more. You won’t have to worry about your seasonal maintenance and you also won’t have to worry about digging up weeds.

Walkways
If you want to install some paving but don’t want to cover up your entire garden then why not consider having some walkways? When you have your walkways installed, you will soon see that they take up a good amount of room and it will stop the grass from getting boggy when it rains. Walkways can be made out of stone, wood chips or even paving. You can also be as inventive as you want as well because when you do this, you will be able to add garden appeal without getting rid of your grass. Not to mention that it will stop muddy footprints in the house!
