Super Simple House Jobs To Do During Isolation

2020 has been a strange year. Since COVID-19 has reaped havoc around the world, many of us have been left in lockdown at home facing days of monotony and Netflix tv shows. But during this time at home there’s no need to waste time doing nothing, because there are plenty of jobs you can do in the house and garden now to spruce it up and make it feel like new! Here are some of the different DIY projects and fun jobs you can do this spring to make those same four walls more exciting during lockdown.

Build a shed
If you have access to any scrap planks of wood, one project you can try this week is building a shed in the garden to store things such as garden tools and summer furniture. You can either think about digging a soil foundation or using Piling, and build your own unique shed to increase your storage abilities in the garden. You can even get hold of some funky bright varnish and paint the shed a cool colour to brighten up the space!

Create an allotment
Shopping during this period is a pain in the neck, and if you want a garden project that can also provide you with some tasty healthy foods to create recipes with. There are plenty of vegetables you can grow such as carrots, potatoes, lettuce, and broccoli.

Refresh your paintwork
Another simple way to make the most of your home during quarantine is to take those partial tins of paint you have hanging around and use them to freshen up the paint on your walls. If you can get hold of new paint, you can even change the colour scheme of your home to really make it feel new and fresh.

Make some art!
Most of us have artwork of some kind hanging on the walls of our home, and now that you have some free time around the house, you can try and make your own pieces to replace the ones you already have. Even if you don’t think you have artistic skill, there are plenty of amazing painting tutorials online such as Katie Jobling who will show you how to create lovely floral and landscape pieces at home. If you are unsure, don’t worry! You have all the time in the world right now so have fun with it and create something great!

Rearrange the furniture
One of the easiest ways to refresh your entire home during this quarantine period is to rearrange the furniture. To make the house feel refreshed and different after all this time stuck inside, you can take a day or so to move things around the rooms and change the scenery. This can be a super fun activity to do and you can even involve your kids and let them arrange their own bedrooms.

So before you start pulling your hair out with boredom this week in quarantine, consider starting a DIY project or two and pass the time!
