How To Feel Way More Confident In The Skin You’re In

When it comes to the way in which we live our lives, we need to do it with all the confidence and happiness in the world. We literally only get one go at this stuff, so we need to make it count and do the things we want. It’s easy to talk about this kind of thing, and so many people do just that. They say that they’re going to one day break out of the boring and samey routine they’re in and live the life that they’ve always dreamed of – without a care in the world. How many actually follow through with this idea, though? Not all that many, unfortunately. The reason is that they’re lacking such confidence needed to take the plunge and do what they want.

Confidence is absolutely vital in this life, and with good reason. If you don’t have much of it, then you won’t ever reach your potential – that’s a fact. We’ve all experienced bouts in confidence and a sheer lack of it; it’s just a case of us actually finding some consistency with the former. Fortunately, becoming a more confident you doesn't have to be the trickiest task in the world. It may seem like an impossible feat right now for some of you, but just know that anyone can go from shy to brash in a matter of months.

The key is to simply improve every aspect of your life. That sounds almost too simple and very naïve, but it’s literally the way to do it. You have to boost yourself up mentally, physically and socially – sometimes even spiritually and philosophically if you need to think deeper and if you like to question your existence and everything around you! Don’t worry if you feel as though you can’t improve – a lot of people think this about themselves, for some reason. Of course, you absolutely can and will as you progress through life. Here are just a few things you can do in order to boost yourself up in every aspect and feel a lot better about yourself in this life:

Stop Taking Yourself Ultra-Seriously

This is something that a lot of people really need to stop doing – it’s a genuine issue. Sure, there are certain aspects of life that we must approach with seriousness, professionalism, and caution, but we often take these shields into every other facet of life. Once you realize that nobody really cares about every move you make, that’s when you can start being yourself. It’s difficult nowadays because we feel like we’re being watched and judged by everyone, but it’s not the case at all. Do you judge every single decision that somebody you barely know makes? Of course, you don’t. The good thing about this idea is that, as time gets on, you’ll probably do this anyway as you’ll become wiser and learn more – you just need to make sure the turning point doesn’t come when you’re an elderly person!

Recognize That Validation From Others Doesn’t Last

At one time or another, each and every one of us looks for validation from others. Some do it at a young age and realize it’s not all that. They then go on to do things for themselves – they’re the lucky ones! Some of us don’t realize until later on, however. You might be someone who looks for validation in someone you admire, a friend, or a boss – if this is the case, then it’s like chasing an endless, hollow buzz. You never become satisfied until you recognize that your opinion is the only one that really matters when it comes to judging you. Self-validation is one of the most important things in life – look to satisfy only yourself, and you’ll feel a lot more confidence over time.

Work Out A Little

If you already do this regularly, then this might need to be adopted by you as too much working out can burn out a person. Working out makes everyone feel more confident in life, though, as it makes them feel as though they have achieved an awful lot. It’s not just a physical thing with regard to your looks and physical aptitude; you also get a mental buzz due to the chemicals in your brain releasing.

Work Hard In Whatever You’re Doing

One of the best ways to feel better about yourself is to work hard. Sure, there will be times where you come up short after putting in lots of effort, but that kind of failure is progress because you got lots done. The worst kind of failure that sits horribly in stomachs is when you barely even move a muscle. Not trying feels a lot worse than losing – that’s a fact. When you work hard and put in the effort, you automatically feel like a useful person – feeling useless is horrific, so avoid that at all costs.

Don’t Be Afraid To Change Up Your Style

Variety is the spice of life, as the old adage goes. There’s little wrong with wanting to keep the same look for years, but you’ll feel a lot better when you look in the mirror after a little shake-up. Changing your hairstyle, buying new jeans, or even replacing your entire wardrobe can add that freshness that everyone needs every now and again. You’ll also get a lot of positive looks, which helps. We talked about not NEEDING validation from others, but a little attention from the right people is never a dull thing!

Talk To More People

When it comes to becoming a more together, confident, and poised human being, one of the things we all need is the ability to socialize – in many different ways. Social skills are super important and play a big part in one’s confidence. A lot of confidence issues that people around the world have are to do with social settings, so it’s only right that this is near the top in terms of the list of priorities. Interact with people online, talk to people as you pass them on the street, go out on dates, get rejected by people – all of these kinds of things make us more confident and/or toughen up our leather. If you just go out and be around others, you’ll become a lot more confident in general – that’s a fact.
