How to Plan the Perfect Proposal

Making the decision to propose is huge. You're essentially telling your partner that you want to spend the rest of your life with them, and that you care for them beyond words. It’s a moment that the two of you will remember for the rest of your lives, so it's crucial that it's done in the right way. If you're thinking about popping the question, here are some things to consider so that you can get it just right.

Make Sure the Both of you Are Ready
This is so important- you have to make sure that the both of you are ready. Don’t propose because you think it is romantic, or even because your partner has given you some sort of ultimatum because it will only end in tears later down the line. Do it because you're absolutely sure, beyond doubt that the two of you are head over heels for one another and have a relationship that will last. After all, marriage is a long-lasting commitment and if the two of you aren't in a good place right now, putting a ring on the situation isn't likely to improve things- at least long term.

Know their Style
It’s important to find out if your partner would like to choose the ring themselves or whether they'd rather you choose something special for them. Selecting a ring is a huge deal, and if they have a dream engagement ring in mind and have discussed this with you, it might be worth taking it into  consideration. After all, they are going to be wearing this on their hand for the rest of their lives. If you don’t know what to go for, look at diamond engagement rings. These are classic and beautiful, and you can choose a simple design that will suit most people's preferences.

The Size
Knowing your partner’s ring size can be difficult, and this is especially the case if you want the whole thing to be a surprise. One way for to get around this would be for you to take a ring that they have right now and put it on a piece of paper. Draw around it with a pen and then take it into a jeweller. They can then tell you the ring size from there. If you don’t want to do that then you can propose with a token ring, then afterwards go and choose the perfect ring. This is a fantastic way for you to make sure that your other half is getting a ring that they love.

Make Everything Memorable
If you know that your partner would love to be surprised then it's so important that you make it memorable. You want stories that you can pass down to your children and then to your grandchildren. For this reason, you need to do it in a special place. You could choose a clifftop under the moonlight, at their favourite restaurant or even under a famous landmark such as the Eiffel tower. Either way, it doesn’t matter what your style is or where you want to do it, as long as it is going to be memorable for both of you.
