Is Now The Right Time To Replace Your Car?

Is now the right time to replace your car? Considering the amount of money you have probably spent on it over the years, you might be tempted to keep hold of it for as long as possible. However, despite the love you might have for your motor, it could be time to consider something new. Of course, you don't have to buy something 'brand new' as there are plenty of good cars on the used car market, so don't assume you need to pay over the odds for a vehicle. Or, if you prefer something new, you could consider personal car leasing as one way to manage the expense. You see, it's worth considering such options, especially if the following ring true for you. Here are some of the reasons why it might be time to replace your car.

#1: Your car is polluting the planet
Your car could be adding to the problem of carbon emissions in your local neighbourhood. If your car failed its emissions test at the last MOT, and your mechanic has recommended a change of vehicle to you, it will be time to consider a replacement. It is the responsibility of all of us to drive green where possible, so now might even be the time to get ahead of the 2030 ban on petrol and diesel car sales and buy an electric vehicle. The planet will thank you for it!

#2: The expense is driving you around the bend
Despite the expense of a replacement car, it might be the wisest choice in the long term. This is the case if your car spends more time at your local garage than on your driveway, as those maintenance bills will continue to be a burden if your car is past its prime. If you could buy something new or almost-new, you would have the peace of mind that your car would (probably) pass its MOT each year, so there would be less need to stress about repair bills.

#3: Safety is a concern
You might be the safest driver on the planet but if your car is lacking certain safety features, the lives of you and your passengers could be at risk. Safety will also be an issue if your car is regularly breaking down or if wear and tear is causing your car to behave erratically. A replacement car with safety features that are now commonplace, such as auto-braking and collision assist, could be a good idea. A car that isn't in danger of grinding to a halt when you're on the roads is also recommended.

#4: Your car no longer meets your needs
Your car may have met your needs once upon a time, but life may be very different now. If your family is growing, it might be that you need something bigger. Or if your kids have flown the nest, it might be that something smaller will be right for you. You might also need something with larger luggage space if you're going on more road trips. There could be other reasons why a replacement car would serve you better, so start to consider your options if you know a change is necessary.

Is now the right time to replace your car? Make the switch when it is right to do so and benefit from a car that adds more value to your life.
