Your car could be adding to the problem of carbon emissions in your local neighbourhood. If your car failed its emissions test at the last MOT, and your mechanic has recommended a change of vehicle to you, it will be time to consider a replacement. It is the responsibility of all of us to drive green where possible, so now might even be the time to get ahead of the 2030 ban on petrol and diesel car sales and buy an electric vehicle. The planet will thank you for it!

Despite the expense of a replacement car, it might be the wisest choice in the long term. This is the case if your car spends more time at your local garage than on your driveway, as those maintenance bills will continue to be a burden if your car is past its prime.
