Flamingo Gifts Haul

Wednesday, March 18, 2015

It doesn't happen very often these days, but now and again I'll come across a real gem of a shop- the kind of place where I'll immediately want just about everything. This is usually proceeded by hours of searching through and looking through every piece in detail, and racking up the kind of wishlist that would put a ten year old's Christmas list to shame. The most recent place where this happened (and my newest obsession) is a website called Flamingo Gifts- this definitely isn't one to be ruled out as a just a place to buy gifts for other people. There are so many unique and interesting things it's the perfect place to buy homewares, party accessories, funny books and novelties as well as loads of other cute bits and pieces that you don't really see anywhere else. Here are three of the things that caught my eye!

Ted Baker Bento Snack Box*: £12.99
I feel that this is something my handbag has been lacking: a mini sized snack/ lunchbox that's the perfect size for keeping in your bag. I wouldn't say this was something you'd pack an entire lunch in- you might be able to just about squish two sandwiches in but I think it's much better for smaller items. There's a separator section with a lid in the middle which means you can pack two different kinds of snacks (sweet and savory?) I was thinking something along the lines of salad in one section and hoummus in another as a light lunch one day when I'm out. Ted Baker packaging is always so beautiful, this comes with their trademark bow, with the slogan 'lets do lunch' on the front. Adorable.

I've definitely got a thing for shabby chic style woodland critters- and anything that incorporates rabbits, birds, foxes or hedgehogs will always catch my eye. I absolutely love this rabbit dish, there are lots of others in similar styles on the site too. This is listed as a jewellery holder, but with it simply being a dish you could use it for anything from spare change to keys to perfume samples (I've been using mine for hair bobbles, clips and grips). It's made of ceramic and feels heavy and good quality with the rabbit securely attached in the centre. It's just such a pretty, versatile piece I love it!

I wish I could express just how great this thing smells, I've been unscrewing the lid and sticking my nose in it countless times throughout the day since I got my hands on it. I've heard loads of rave reviews for Flamingo candles over the past few months and now I can totally see why- this is incredible. There are so many scents you're practically spoiled for choice, but eventually I went for the scent 'Cheesecake Crunch'. Oh yes, it's every bit as amazing as it sounds; think a sweet cake like scent with cocoa, brown sugar, nutmeg and lots of other tasty sounding gourmand notes. At £11 these are SO reasonably priced, you get fifty hours of non toxic burn time (thanks to the all natural soybean wax) which really fill the room with scent. The perfect gift for any candle lover or just for yourself, I'll 100% be making a purchase of some of the other scents!
