Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeshadow Pencil Stash: Swatches and Review

I've heard so many people rave about Fragrancedirect but had never actually taken a look until a couple of weeks ago. All I can say is wow! Such great deals, I love a bargain as much as the next person and so was quite happy to come across this gem of a site. While I was having a nosey through I came across this gorgeous set of Urban Decay eyeshadow pencils for just £12 which I thought was a great deal, especially when each pencil works out at under £2.50. I'm a huge fan of eyeshadow pencils, and almost always use a cream eyeshadow or shadow pencil as a base for my powder shadows. I just think they're better for creating more intense and vibrant eye looks than traditional eye primers.

These are surprisingly easy to work with and can be blended out nicely, although you do have to work quite quickly. Once they dry there's no shifting them all day, I don't actually think I've ever come across an eye product so far that's as long lasting. According to the description they're crease proof and waterproof and I'd say that was an accurate description, they're not difficult to remove with a makeup wipe or remover but they're definitely smudge proof and last all day with no problems at all. I've been using Juju as a lid colour with Rehab in the crease, blended out slightly with a blending brush. I then used Sin to highlight, and one of the two brighter shades under the lower lashline for a pop of colour.

The set contains five 2.5g pencils. Even though they're not full sized products, they're still an ok size. The pigmentation is so good you don't need to apply much to build up the colour, so are likely to last for a long time. I love the fact that there are both neutrals and bright colours included, and that the pencil itself is so versatile. As well as being used alone as eyeshadow they're perfect bases for powder eye products, and the pencil tip means they can be used as standard liners too. The lightest shade (Sin) is great for highlighting the inner eye and browbone. I think these would work really well alongside Urban Decay's eyeshadow palettes, and if Santa's good to me this Christmas maybe in a few weeks I'll get to find out!
